Chicago Summer Sizzler Showcases Youth Hockey Talent Across Four Divisions
The Chicago Summer Sizzler, held from June 21-23, 2024, in Chicago, IL, brought together youth hockey teams from across the region. Organized by The Show Tournaments, the event featured intense competition across the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16/18U AA divisions. Each team showcased their skills and determination, competing fiercely for the championship titles. 10U Championship
In the 10U division, the Original Sauce Kit delivered an impressive performance, shutting out FP Selects with a final score of 4-0. The Original Sauce Kit set the pace early, scoring three goals in the first period and adding another in the second. Their strong defensive play ensured FP Selects had no opportunities to score, securing a well-deserved victory.
12U Championship
R5 emerged victorious in the 12U division with a commanding 4-0 win over High Skills Hockey. R5’s offense was relentless, scoring one goal in the first period, two in the second, and one more in the third. Their defense was equally strong, preventing High Skills Hockey from finding the back of the net throughout the game.
14U Championship
The 14U division saw Junk Yard Dogs claim a hard-fought 3-2 victory over TRU Hockey. The game was tightly contested, with both teams scoring in the first period. Junk Yard Dogs pulled ahead in the second period with two goals, while TRU Hockey managed one. The third period saw no additional goals, and Junk Yard Dogs held on to secure the win.
16/18U Championship
In the 16/18U division, Big Bang Red Alert Unit triumphed over TRU Hockey with a 4-2 victory. Both teams scored twice in the first period, but Big Bang Red Alert Unit pulled ahead with one goal in the second and another in the third. TRU Hockey was unable to answer back, giving Big Bang Red Alert Unit the championship win.
